WHAT IS PPF/BUSHWRAPZ?
Think of it as a thick clear contact, like the kind your mum would have wrapped your school books with or a phone screen protector! Manufacturers are using less and less paint during production, it is getting harder to maintain and care for your vehicle. With less paint thickness, you don’t have the ability to continually cut and polish paintwork like old paint thicknesses would allow. Paint Protection Film acts as a physical barrier to protect your paint from anything that that harsh environment can throw at it! Bushwrapz can repel up to 97% of UV Rays but more importantly it eliminates oxidisation which is what more commonly affects the appearance of your paintwork fading long-term.
DOES IT SELF HEAL?
PPF has a flexible component in the film called thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU). A combination of hard and soft co-polymers reacts to rebind and retain their shape causing the film to reseal and heal themselves with the assistance of heat. As long as the scratch doesn’t exceed the top layer of the film it will disappear with the heat of the sun.
WILL IT DAMAGE MY PAINT?
PPF will not damage paintwork if the paint is correctly adhered to the panel. The only reason PPF would take paint off the vehicle is if there is a respray or paintwork that has not been correctly prepped and baked.
WHAT IF I HAVE SCRATCHES ALREADY?
PPF will help hide light scratches! The PPF creates a bridge over the paint lesion and causes light to refract and seemingly “fill” the gaps. The film will not hide the scratch but it will protect it from the elements.
HOW DO I ROMOVE PPF/BUSHWRAPZ?
You can easily remove the BushWrapz Film using boiling water, cover the film and begin peeling an edge. Start pulling the film back on a 90 degree angle ensuring you hold tension to avoid leaving adhesive behind (much like command strips used to hand paintings on the wall). This is also achievable using a heat gun, steamer or even a hairdryer. Applying heat will help to loosen the adhesive and in turn make the film removal easier
WHAT ARE THE LIMITATIONS OF PPF/BUSHWRAPZ?
We take the most care possible during our installs and have purpose built clean rooms, but there is no way we can guarantee a flawless install. The aim is to have no defects visible from 1m away from the car. Given the complexities of the shape and the nature of working with film, there can be joins and relief cuts.
